Why I don't like PTP Forums

I'm sick of PTP (Paid to Post) forums. For several reasons:
Reason 1: It's just plain not worth it...unless: You don't have anything else to do. Or unless you have a ton of referrals.
Reason 2: Spam, worthless posts, too many posts.
I'm going to explain a little more. Most PTP forums don't pay more than $.01 per post. That means that to earn $1.00 you'd have to post 100 times. And if you're making a quality post, it would probably take at least 5 minutes. That's 12 posts per hour... or $0.12 per hour! PTP forums just aren't worth the time if you're looking to make real money.
The second problem is the huge number of senseless posts. If you look at any PTP forum, you'll see hundreds of them. Sure, some forums have moderators set up, but it doesn't seem to help. Mylot, egold-world, they're all the same. It makes it very hard to find quality content.
So that's basically why I'm done with such forums. I've wasted to much time and have nothing much to show for it.
And that's why I like SlashMySearch. They pay you also, but not per post. They pay an hourly rate for any type of activity. You can simply read the forums, and get paid just as much as if you were posting none stop.
If you like to write though, there's a site you need to check out. It's called Associated Content. I had seen it on another blog, and decided to check it out. Now to be honest with you, I don't consider myself a writer. I don't really enjoy writing. Up to this point, that is.
Anyways, I decided to sign up. After all, it's free to sign up and there's no risk involved. So I typed up a little how-to on doing basic lawnmower tune-up. (In my "real" job I'm a lawnmower/small engine repair technician). I submitted it, and it had gone over a week and I hadn't heard back from Associated Content. I figured they must've tossed it into the Recycle Bin or something. I would've been glad to get two bucks for it, I heard about some other bloggers getting around $5 for articles. Then last night I got an email with the offer details. (They review the submitted articles, then make an offer to buy them. You can either decline the offer or accept it). They offered me almost $10 for it. I was pretty pleased! There's also a system where you get a bonus for every thousand views of your article. Mine hasn't been published yet, so I don't know if it will even be popular. I'm certainly going to be doing some more of it.

Earnings Update

Today was my third payday from Bigcrumbs! I found $9.27 in my paypal account this month, up from $6.26 last month. (See screenshot below).
Here's a summary of earnings and referral statistics for a couple programs:

Bigcrumbs:
Total number of payments: ... 3
Total amount paid to date: ... $16.50
Referrals:
Generation 1: ... 82
Generation 2: ... 54
Generation 3: ... 13
----------------------
Total Referrals: 149

SlashMySearch is back online!! And here's the stats:
Total number of payments:.............. 0
Total amount paid:............................ $0.00
Total earned:...................................... $4.46
Referrals:
Generation 1: ... 12

As you can see, no payments from SlashMySearch yet. One bit of good news from them is that they will probably lower the time before first payment to 1 month, instead two months.

Agloco: (Viewbar has not been released yet, no earnings).
Referrals:
Direct referrals: ...5
Indirect referrals: 1
Total:......................6

And here's the proof of payment from Bigcrumbs:

And for more information on all of these programs, check out the older posts.
Have fun!

Updates

Well, I'm not doing too well with edatajob.com so far. I haven't made any money with them yet, but I'm still trying, and I'm still confident that the money will start rolling in.
Slashmysearch has been down for several days now, and I have heard nothing as to what's happening, or how much more downtime there'll be. I hope it goes back up soon because it was one of my top earning programs.
Bigcrumbs is doing great like always. Every month I'm seeing an increase in earnings, and referrals.
New programs:
I came across a new paid-to-post forum, egold-world. They pay out every Sunday, either through Paypal or through Egold. For paypal they pay 0.02 per post, for egold they pay 0.01 per post. Their referral system works like this:
$0.02 when a referral reaches 20 posts.
$0.10 when a referral reaches 50 posts.
After that, you get $0.20 for every 100 posts by a referral.
You can't earn substantial amounts from this program, but if you like forums you can certainly make a little pocket change!
And tomorrow I'm posting a complete update for all my earnings & referrals from different programs. Plus some payment proofs.

New Program - eDataJob!

Ok, I know I'm wandering off my beaten path with this program. That's because this is the first (probably only) program that I've started that requires a membership fee.
I was referred to this program by my new friend Wyatt from www.webmoneyblog.com, whom I first came to know from the SlashMySearch.com forums.
It's called eDataJob.com, a work-at-home data entry company. I was very skeptical at first, but became convinced by Wyatt's proof of payments and honest attitude.
Since I just signed up today, I know nothing about the program other than what I've read. I do know how it works, though. Basically, you type up ads for companies, then publish the ads through Google Adwords, Microsoft Adcenter, Yahoo ads, etc. (Yes, you pay for the ads). Then if your ad generates a sale for the company, you get a commission, which varies but can be up to 75%.
This is not an investment free program!
The signup fee is $47. Ad costs are completely up to you, you can spend as much or as little as you want. Obviously, the more ads you put in, the more you could make from commission, but that also means more investement. This is not a risk-free program! Although they do have a money back guarantee, which is that if you don't make any money in 30 days, they'll give your $47 back.
This is going to be very interesting for me, and I'll keep everyone informed of my progress through this blog.

Now that's not nice!

I just got an this email from Wealthtoolbox.com:

Subject: Critical Notice: Sunday March 4

It seems your computer may be infected with malicious
software. Please read the following critical notice
regarding your WealthToolbox account...

===================================
CRITICAL NOTICE!
===================================

We have recently been scanning our web server log files
and noticed that many of our members computers seem to be
infected with spyware, viruses and trojan programs.

These types of programs are very dangerous because they
can allow someone to control your computer remotely and
possibly even steal your login information for your
bank accounts and other personal information.

If you would like to scan your computer for free, to
guarantee full removal of all spyware, viruses and
trogans, please click this link -->
It didn't scare me, but an unsuspecting person could get a bad shakeup. I say that's a nasty way to advertise, which is all they are doing. Don't listing to what the say about virus's, it's not true. They are advertising a program called XoftSpySE, which I've never heard of. Do not bother with it. Since it's not a program commonly used, stay away from it. Use good, trustworthy free anti-spyware programs like Lavasoft Ad-aware SE or Spybot Search & Destroy.

Like I said before, the possibility of a payout from Wealthtoolbox is very low, (See below) but there's no risk, no fee involved so it's still worth signing up, just in case. Be sure to use a email address that you don't care if it gets spammed.

Quick Update: Bigcrumbs up & running

Apparently Bigcrumbs was experiencing technical problems, as evidenced by the notice posted on the site last night. It also said that they were doing server upgrades. Now, although the home page does not work properly, any other link leads to the site. I was also able to sign in & check my stats, which have not changed since Thursday. (See one of the posts below to find out about what Bigcrumbs is and how to join).

Bumps in the road at SMS, Bigcrumbs down?

Yesterday SlashMySearch.com announced a lower payout limit, for the second time. It's now at $20, which I see as good. Meanwhile, the forums are full of complaints about the lower payrate, which indeed dropped drastically, and the search engine being out of order. I believe that both problems are temporary though, and the admin has confirmed that belief. I expect to see the payrate continue to rise back up as soon as the search engine is back up. Apparently the membership grew faster than expected, and the huge load soon crashed the servers. According to a post in the SMS forum by the admin, SlashMySearch is working on a custom data center which should greatly alleviate server problems. My advice would be to hang in there, I am sure that it will only get better from here.
On the positive side, the SlashMySearch member count is rapidly rising, it should have passed the 15,000 mark this morning. More members means more ad revenue, which in turn means a higher payrate. To quote the SMS Admin: "The payrate will not go lower. We see it only rising in the future....The rapid membership growth is bad for the short-term [because of the server load] but good for the long-term."
My SlashMySearch statistics:
Referrals:..................12
Total Earnings:.........$3.60

What Happened to Bigcrumbs?

The Bigcrumbs.com website has been down since early yesterday morning. I have no idea what is going on, I just hope it's nothing serious. My earnings there were rapidly increasing, as was my downline. The last I was able to check my statistics were:
Total Referrals:..................140
My Earnings:......................$5.21
Referral Earnings...............$24.51
Total Earnings....................$29.72
Payouts: (2)........................$7.23
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed!
